Gym Jones Prep Part 1
Gym Jones Prep Part 1
This program is part 1 of 4 of a Gym Jones seminar preparation program. This program has been used to prepare individuals to attend/start the Gym Jones seminar process. Part 1 is 6-weeks long and focused on building a solid foundation across all energy systems with an emphasis on increasing an individuals 2000m row time.
Before starting this program you will need a current 2000m row time on the Concept 2 row machine.
* The 2000m Row progressions can be used in preparation for a 2000m SkiERG Time trial with proper adjustments to stroke rates *
This program was designed specifically for individuals who are attending, or planning on attending, a Gym Jones seminar. But anyone who is looking to test themselves or develop a higher work capacity will benefit from the program
* We recommend completing all four part of the Gym Jones Prep Programs in order *
“I started the prom with a 2k Row Pr of 7:17. Still not aware of my capabilities and how to dig through the pain cave this test creates. I reached out to Kurtis with the ultimate reason to hit just the sub 7-minute Gym Jones stadard. The program helped me mentally to push though my limits and make me deal with the uncomfortable. On the physical side, I tested my 2000m row only two time. First one, I PR’d my row by 22-seconds and scored a 6:55. I thought that was my ceiling until Kurtis Challenged me to go sub 6:50 for the instructor standard. After an intense power endurance cycle, I tested again and achived the stadard with a 6:48 2000m row. I am now a fully certified Gym Jones instructor, other than the 2k row PRs, which i crushed again in the seminars, I PR’d all GJ bench marks including; Those burpees suck, Jones crawl, Jonestown sprint and Gym Jones most dreaded triathlon.”
- Mohamed Shihy, Fully Certified Gym Jones Instructor
“Before i began the Gym Jones Prep Program my 2000m Row time was 8:54. I decided to do the GJ prep program because i wanted to push myself outside my comfort zones. I retested the frist month and got 8:30.5. This was the momnet i knew i could go faster. Kurtis created a program that showed me what more I was Capable of. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it in the end. My final re-test I was able to geta 7:54.5; 30sec PR and the Gym Jones womens standard. Not only am i stronger on the rower, but i have a stronger mindset towards the 2k.”
